OOP, OYNO, YMMV ….. WTF ???

Let me try to make sense of all of this for you…

BOGO – Buy One Get One – In most cases this stands for Buy One Get One Free, however it can also be Buy One Get One Half Off..  This is also written as B1G1.

Blinkie – This is a manufacture coupon that is found in the grocery store (usually next to the item that the coupon is for) The term “Blinkie” comes from the fact that there is a little red blinking light on these machines.

Catalina Coupon – These are coupons obtained at the register. There is a machine next to the receipt printer in most stores that will generate coupons based on the items that you buy.

DND – Stands for Do Not Double. If this is printed on a coupon, it will not automatically double in the store (assuming your store doubles coupons)

E-Coupons – These are Electronic Coupons that are linked to your shoppers reward card. Most of the stores “e-coupons” can be found online at their website or on an app (if they have one)

ECB’s – Also known as Extra Bucks or Extra Care Bucks, this is CVS’s store rewards program. They are money off of your next order, that prints at the bottom of your receipt if you buy select items.

Insert – This is what we in the “coupon world” call the coupon booklets that come in your newspaper.

IP – This is short for Internet Print, which refers to any coupon that you can print off of the internet.

Matchups – A list of sale items, matched with current coupons, showing you the lowest price you can purchase an item for.

MIR – This is short for Mail In Rebate. You buy an item, and send in your proof of purchase along with the product UPC and the manufacture sends you a check.

OOP – Short hand for Out Of Pocket, referring to your “Out Of Pocket” Cost for your items purchased after coupons.

OYNO – This stands for On (or OFF)  Your Next Order, and usually refers to Catalina coupons (example: Buy 4 of this, and receive a Catalina for $3 OYNO)

Peelie – These are the coupons that are stuck to the packages in the supermarket.

P&G – This is short for Proctor and Gamble which is a manufacture of MANY household items. In most cases when people are talking about P&G they are referring to the P&G insert that comes out once a month.

PSA – Stands for the term “Prices Start At” This might be found on several matchups that involve a broad range of items.

Raincheck – This is a piece of paper that is given to you from the store when they are out of a certain item, that allows you to purchase the item at the sale price once it is back in stock.

Register Rewards (or RR) – This is Walgreens rewards program. They come from the same machines that “Catalina’s” come from.

RP – Red Plum, is one of the inserts that come in the newspaper. Red Plum also has a printable coupon website that you can print coupons from Located Here

SS – Smart Source, is one of the inserts that come in the newspaper. Smart Source also has a printable coupon website that you can print coupons from located HERE

Stacking – This phrase means using a Store Coupon and a Manufacture Coupon on the same item.

Stockpile – This is your own personal grocery store, and every couponers goal. The key to saving money is having a stockpile to turn to when you need it most.

Tear Pad – This is a “pad” of coupons that can be found next to items in the store.

UPC – Stands for Universal Product Code, this is the Bar Code that is printed on every item you can purchase.

+Up Reward – This is Rite Aid’s Rewards program. Similar to CVS, they will print on the bottom of your receipt when you purchase specific items.

YMMV – Your Mileage May Vary. This means that a certain deal may not be available to EVERYONE.
